Raptors Kick ‘Em When They’re Down: TOR 94 DET 64
December 23rd, 2009 | by SL |Let’s not pretend that laying a 30 point beat-down on a severely undermanned Detroit Pistons team is a major step in the right direction, but there were a few signs of encouragement for the Raptors tonight. Detroit was pitiful from the field, shooting just under 28% and their starting lineup featured Chucky Atkins. The Raptors murdered the Pistons with ball movement and a decent showing from beyond the arc.
Even though he had just 11 points, tonight may have been the most comfortable Hedo Turkoglu has looked in a Toronto uniform. Big Turk was breaking down defenders with ease and found his open teammates with 11 assists.
Amir Johnson once again provided a ton of energy off the bench with 4 blocks, and Marco Belinelli matched Johnson with 9 points in 23 minutes. I can’t say enough good things about the way Belinelli is playing right now, even without the ball on offense I can’t help but notice his solid positional play.
For those that may not have seen the game; Belinelli narrowly missed being awarded an amazing buzzer beating three-pointer on an inbound play. He just couldn’t get the ball out of his hand fast enough; his almost-basket followed an amazing half-court chuck by the Pistons’ Will Bynum. Sorry, no video available yet…

you cant help but like what Belinelli has been doing? wtf are you drunk? scored 9 points on 4-9 & until tonight hasnt been able to hardly even get on the court. so what in the world are you talking about? did you get him confused for Sonny or something?

Drunk, no. A couple drinks, yes. Take a closer look, I was impressed mostly with Belinelli’s play without the ball. Great game by Sonny, though.
