Vince Carter, Magic Sink Raptors

November 22nd, 2009 | by SL |

Someday, when we’re all grown up we’ll stop booing Vince Carter.  It’s embarrassing.

It’s not that Carter was particularly on fire Sunday afternoon versus the Raptors, he was 9-of-24 from the field.  His play is no longer electric, it’s hardly even exciting.

Carter was good when he had to be, putting up 24 points and playing the role of veteran leader on the floor.  Raptors fans booed every time he touched the ball, we lost 104-96, it’s time to cut that shit.

The Bright Spot:

The play of Amir Johnson.  Number 15 put up a season-high 14 points to go along with eight rebounds, and his hustle and hard work kept the Raptors in this game long after they were out of it.  He’s like Jerome “Junkyard Dog” Williams high on athleticism and drunk on second effort.

Jarrett Jack played 30+ minutes for the second straight game and responded by piling up 11 assists.  Jack wasn’t very sharp from the floor, registering just eight points on 3-of-9 shooting, but he did manage to pick up eight rebounds to go along with his season-high assist total.

Wanted:  Information on the whereabouts of Jason Williams’ sideburns or lack thereof

Dude, those are trimmed up way too high.  Looks like my grade six photo.

Coming Up:

Toronto hosts the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.  The Pacers have dropped three straight including Sunday’s 104-88 loss to Charlotte.
