Even The Beat Knows: It’s Time To Bring Back Oak
November 5th, 2009 | by SL |This might sound repetitive, but the solution to toughening up the Raptors on the defensive end is Sir Charles Oakley. Despite picking up a couple of nice victories and running a solid offensive game, the Raptors have still looked a little bit soft in their defensive efforts.
Even though Reggie Evans is arguably the scariest dude in the NBA right now, his impending return isn’t the ultimate answer to this team’s flaccid defense.
It’s been our dream here at Jurassic Hoops since day one to bring Oakley back into the fold, now the mainstreamers are getting behind the cause. I’m not even so sure the players would be able to take the heat that Oak would thrust upon them, but I’m willing to find out.
I’m sure Charles Oakley can cook up a mean plate of beef short ribs, but face it: you’d rather see him cook up some championship defense.
He’s not going to be a free agent forever. It’s time to strike.
