Hump Has Got To Go
July 7th, 2009 | by SL |I like Kris Humphries. If not overly talented, he’s a good plug that does his ‘work’.
Seeing the mess that is the Raptors’ roster with the impending Turkoglu deal, Bryan Colangelo has got some shifting and shedding to do before we end up starting the season with Jose, DeMar, six big men, and the best of the D-League.
If the rumours of an imminent sign-and-trade with the Dallas Mavericks involving Shawn Marion and Jerry Stackhouse prove to be true then that just kinda makes the Raptors older. We all love Anthony Parker (I’m guilty too), but for the money he deserves is seeking it just doesn’t make sense. Hopefully B.C. can find a way to bring Carlos Delfino back into the fold, that will be best for everyone… trust me on this.
That leaves us with the option of sending Hump and presumably a future draft pick somewhere, for something. Let’s face it: in a list of forwards that is set to include playing time for Chris Bosh, Bargnani, Turkoglu, and Reggie Evans; Kris Humphries has his work cut out for himself finding minutes. Mensah-Bonsu will likely be pulling in some serious garbage-time with those “ups”, so, Hump ain’t seeing the floor.
That’s it right now. Unless B.C. works some magic in the Kevin McHale sense, all we’ve got to move is Kris Humphries and picks. We ARE going to be better this season, right?

Pops over Hump? Yeah, I’d probably be on board, no pun intended, with that.
Also: playoffs!1

Not that Hump should play behind Pops, but he’d definitely bring a little more back in a trade.

Getting rid of Hump would be a massive success.
